The house
With its heart in India, an eye on the world
Gyan Chand Dhaddha entered the Jaipur gem trade in the 1950s and founded Gem Plaza in 1988. His sons, Suresh and Arun Dhaddha, took the house into manufacturing and incorporated it in 2003. The third generation — Sakhil, Akhil and Nikhil Dhaddha — works in it now, so the second and third generation run the house together. Everything we sell is made in our own atelier at Sitapura, where more than 150 craftspeople cut, set, polish and finish under one roof. Nothing is bought in and re-badged. The family's other undertaking, the Gyan Museum, holds more than 2,500 objects and is named for the founder.

We start with a conversation: the occasion, the stone you have in mind or already own, how the piece will be worn, and what you want to spend.
Step 2 of 3
Ideation and design
Sketches first, then CAD and, where it helps, a model. Changes are made on the drawing rather than on the metal.

Handcrafting
The piece is cut, set, polished and finished at our own bench in Sitapura, by the people who make everything else we sell.

The Gyan Museum is named for our founder and holds the collection he spent a lifetime assembling: more than 2,500 objects across three thousand years, arranged in nine curatorial categories. It can be seen alongside a visit to the workshop.

Come and see them in person
The showroom is on M.I. Road, in the working centre of Jaipur, a short walk from the jewellery shops around Johari Bazaar. The atelier at Sitapura can be seen by appointment.
